Why Am I Fasting?

 

 

Over the last couple of months, I have been mentally and emotionally all over the place.  I began to feel overwhelmed with certain decisions that I needed to make and I just had enough.

I need clarity and direction.  As a Christian, there are times where you can tell that you are drifting from Christ.  I know this to be the case for myself, so I am fasting.

Fasting is a heartfelt and intentional time spent in prayer, reading of the Word and removing distractions from your daily routine. Some people remove food, others remove social media, secular music or other things that will keep them from spending that time with God.

So, now it is time to reflect and be honest with yourself.  What do you need to remove from your daily routine this week?

 

Items to have during your fast this week:

-The Bible
-A notebook (to journal and take notes)
-Written questions that you want answered and topics/prayers that you want to bring to God

 

Remember that this time is precious and intimate, people should not know all that is going on in your fast/time with God.  Enjoy this time with Him!

 

The first few days I will be juicing; the recipes are:

 

Skin glow juice:

-1 orange

-1 thumb size of ginger

-3 large carrots

-tbsp of turmeric

Juice for the heart:

-4-6 beets

-1 red apple

-1tbsp fresh lemon juice

-4 carrots

-1 thumb size of ginger

Detox juice:

-3 green apples

-2 oranges

-1 grapefruit

-1 lemon

-1/4/ cup of ginger

 

Let me pray with you before this week starts:

“Dear Father, we are so thankful for you! You know everything about us.  You know our thoughts and our fears.  Lord we are coming to you to lay our burdens at Your feet and to hear from You.   Father, I pray that this week, you blow us away with Your Love, Your Grace and Your Presence.  I pray that each person that is fasting this week hears from you and is obedient.  In Jesus’ Name…Amen!
