For the last few months, I have been having some real skin issues. Specifically on my face and neck.
I was dealing with:
-Redness
-Peeling
-Inflamation
-Dark & light patches
This has caused me to not want to go out anywhere or see many people. I would decline invitations to places because I didn’t feel confident in my appearance. I tried many things, going to a dermatologist in Virginia (before I moved back to Atlanta) and she believed it was just eczema. I was also spending hundreds of dollars on products, washes, creams, masks, etc. For those who have known me for years, know that my face has always been a concern because of my birthmark. This unknown condition has just added to the insecurity.
Only a few weeks ago, I became fed up. I made a dermatologist appointment, here in Atlanta. She took note that most of the products that I was using was natural and/or organic products. My everyday way of living consists of mostly natural products, from the essential oils I use, to deodorant and the food I eat. The doctor explained to me that I had dermatitis; when you become allergic to “everyday products.” She told me that the products that I was using was reacting to the sun and I became allergic to the reactions. Although I’m pretty bummed that I can no longer use those natural products on my face, I am appreciative of the lesson.
I do a lot of research on the natural products that I make and that I use, but I would have never expected this outcome. I hope you and I will understand that the products we use can/will chemically change in certain environments and results may carry.
So, with all of that, my face and neck cleared up immediately after the first use of the medication and new face cleanser (VaniCream) she gave me! Yaaass to clear skin. On the bright side, this whole process even lightened the birthmark on my face!
From me,
Chrissy
