My Essential Oil Recipes

When I moved to northern Virginia a few years ago, I used it as an opportunity to challenge myself.  I started to take note of the things that I was putting on my body (lotions, soaps deodorant) and in my body( food/drinks).

I knew about essential oils for many years, I just never really looked into them and their benefits.  I noticed that the items we use everyday, such as toothpaste, shampoos and lotions, all have ingredients that our bodies don’t love or always absorb well.  I started to use essential oils first in my DIY deodorant.

1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup arrowroot powder
4 tablespoons unrefined coconut oil
10 drops of essential oil of choice (I used lemon and Eucalyptus )

I stopped using store bought deodorant because the active ingredient in them is Aluminum.  This is what stops you from sweating, but if you don’t sweat, your body is holding on to the toxins and this is a huge contributor to breast cancer (and other cancers).  Using essential oils is healthier than other drugs/chemicals  and beauty options.  They are natural and usually easier for your body to recognize absorb and they don’t affect other organs when treating a symptom.

*As always, please use a carrier oil (olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil) when applying essential oils topically.

*Test out oils on small section of arm or leg to see if there are allergic reactions.
