As the year is coming to an end, I’m reflecting on one of the first choices that I made in 2017, to cut ALL of my hair off. My 2016 was not the greatest year. I dealt with depression. I was lost, career wise and I could barely afford rent every month. I wanted something different for myself in 2017.…
Since October is National Depression Awareness month, I thought it would be a great time to share a little bit of my experience with depression. Depression isn’t just when someone wears all black and is quiet; depression is a mood disorder. I personally see it as a spectrum. There are people who are depressed and they are able to…
Do you identify as A Creative? Have you found yourself being un-inspired? Do you like/enjoy your current job or position? As a creative person, I have struggled find the “right fit” for me. There are so many people out here that don’t embrace a creative person; a person in the arts, a person who thinks outside of society’s norm. As…
“If you don’t know where you came from, then you won’t know where you are going.” We have all heard a version of this quote. I’m sorry to be one that does not allow my past to carry too much weight. #SorryNotSorry Don’t get me wrong, I do believe that we need to look back and take note of…
How many times have you said that you were going to start networking? An event comes up and you find every reason not to attend the event, right? Well, I can relate. I have always been the type of person that could never attend events alone. For some reason I just feel awkward standing in a room and literally…
How many times have you received the advice, turn your passion into a paycheck? We hear it often but sometimes we are still confused on how to apply that concept. There are a few things that I have learned over the past year, that is to: -Tell people what you want -Share what your talents are -Share what you’re passionate…
Okay, It is May!
This year is moving right along. The question I want to ask is, how is your New Year’s resolution coming along? It’s not quite the middle of the year yet, that’s why I wanted to check in on y’all!
Do you even remember your resolution? You know, you got all dressed up New Year’s Eve and went to some awesome party and either right before or right after that New Year’s kiss, you made a promise or goal for yourself this year… do you remember?
Whether is was, “New Year, New Me”, or you spent Christmas money on a gym membership or even swore cutting out all toxic relationships; did you keep up with it? I get it, we get so busy once the year gets started. Life throws you curve balls and you forget the promise(s) you made to yourself a few months ago.
But, I’m coming to the rescue! I want to encourage you that there is still plenty of 2017 left. You may ask, “Well Christina, what do I do now?” My answer is simple. “Don’t think of it as you are starting over, think of it as you are continuing.”
Continue where you left off. If we change the way we think about it and we aren’t so hard on ourselves, it will be an easy process. Lets use this month to recalibrate. To adjust things in our lives so that we can keep our 2017 resolution. If you need accountability, share your New Year’s resolution below.
My resolution was to be serious about my fitness and health goals.
From me,
Chrissy
For the last few months, I have been having some real skin issues. Specifically on my face and neck. I was dealing with: -Redness -Peeling -Inflamation -Dark & light patches This has caused me to not want to go out anywhere or see many people. I would decline invitations to places because I didn’t feel confident in my appearance. I…
It’s only March, right? Well things are already changing beyond my belief. I am truly in a transitional space in life. Within 3 months, I have moved out of my apartment in Fairfax, Va to live with family in Burke, Va. It was emotionally really difficult for me because I did not want to leave the place that I created…
Yes, We have made it to 2017! I won’t speak much on the past, but I am sure we are all glad that 2016 is over!! Now, with that being said; the calendar year may have changed, but it does not mean much if you have not changed. Do not get me wrong, I am not expecting you to be…
